Navigational Aids – Placement and maintenance of over 125 private navigational buoys to mark shoals and rocks providing another layer of boating safety over the Coast Guard buoys.
Property Inspections – Conduct inspections of members’ properties/cottages in their absence; two per month from September through May.
Water Quality – Support monitoring lake water quality for recreational use through scheduled water sampling/analysis and contribute to water centric efforts in the area in conjunction with the Watershed Council.
Boating Safety – Sponsor youth boating safety certification classes, adult refresher classes and vessel safety checks.
Local Government Interaction – LCIA representation at public township meetings and involvement in local planning and regulatory issues as needed.
Member Communication – Keep members up-to-date on pertinent news, current conditions, and important local issues through Quarterly Newsletters and Facebook page. Annual Member Meeting and Dinner in August plus three Board Meetings per year.

The Les Cheneaux Watershed Council invites you to become a member of our growing organization. The Council is engaged in many activities in the Les Cheneaux Watershed that promote conservation, education, protection, restoration, and sustainability of the water based resources within our watershed. If you are interesteded in becoming involved or if you just want to keep informed through our newsletters, please send your membership request to our office in Cedarville.
Islands Wildlife is a philanthropic organization located in the Les Cheneaux Islands. We are dedicated to the people, wildlife, and environment of this unique region of the Upper Peninsula.
