Celebrate a Star-Spangled 4th of July in Les Cheneaux!


Les Cheneaux Lions Club Fish Fry
4-7 pm - the Lions will serve up the tastiest fish fry around, all for a great cause: scholarships for local students. The Lions also help with and sponsor a host of other community projects and programs, like the Snows Heritage Park in Cedarville, and Leader Dogs for the Blind. The dinner will be at Les Cheneaux Cheneaux Community Schools Cafeteria, Cedarville


16th Annual 5-Mile Fun Run and Walk
This fundraiser for the Cedarville High School Cross Country Team is always a challenging and great time! 8 - 9:15 am – registration. Race starts at 9:30 am! Bring the whole family! Meet at Les Cheneaux Community Schools' tennis courts on Grove Street in Cedarville.

Music at the Maritime Museum
7 pm – Featuring everyone's favorite good-time band, the Beach Chickens! Refreshments will be offered as well. Kick up your heels or just listen to some great tunes while reuniting with friends and family at the Maritime Museum on M-134, Cedarville. Free admission.


Les Cheneaux Farmers & Artisans Market
10 am - 2 pm – Avery Arts & Learning Center at the Hessel School House, Hessel (entrances on M-134 or 3206 Cedar Road). Fresh and local produce, baked goods, arts and crafts, gourmet soups to sip, and much more!

Marketplace Flea Market
10 am - 2 pm, at the Hessel Marketplace, 2900 W. M-134,
Hessel. Find antiques, collectibles, great deals, gifts, plants and more. Ever-changing array of vendors and products, ranging from fresh to vintage.


Summer Makers’ Market Arts & Crafts Show
10 am – 3 pm, at the Community Center, Cedarville. Les Cheneaux's traditional summer arts and crafts show will feature fiber arts, handcrafted jewelry, art photography, laser engravings, wood work and much, much more.


Les Cheneaux Ambulance Auxiliary's Pancake & Sausage Breakfast
7:30-10:30 am – start your 4th of July celebration off with a reinforcing and hearty pancake and sausage breakfast with hot coffee, cool juice and even real, Tassier Sugar Bush maple syrup, at the Clark Township Ambulance & Fire Hall in Cedarville

11 am - PARADE in downtown Cedarville
"Superheroes" or patriotic theme; line-up on Grove Street near downtown Cedarville at 10 am. Everyone welcome to participate, and kids on bikes riding in the parade get a prize! Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, plus a People's Choice award.

Noon (after the parade) - Kids Games and Fun at the Les Cheneaux Schools Athletic Field, Cedarville
Carnival-style games sponsored by Ford's Lakefront Cottages with prizes by Carmeuse Lime & Stone; Clark Twp. Fire Dept Foam Treasure Hunt, and the Carmeuse Lime & Stone craft tent and Sno-Cones; information and demos by the Clark Township CPR Program, meet Team USA triathlon representative Scout Hester, and more!

Events in downtown Cedarville in the Waterfront Park - starting at 10:30 am - UP in Smoke BBQ throughout the day; followed later around 6:30 pm by Music in the Park with Dance Commander DJ, sponsored by First National Bank of St. Ignace, Les Cheneaux Branch

7 pm - Jersey Mud Eating Contest!
All ages welcome to compete in this contest, in which those who eat their Jersey Mud Sundae the fastest will win a prize. Meet behind the Ice Cream Shoppe (behind Dan's Barber Shop) in downtown Cedarville. Sign up in the Ice Cream Shoppe or outside at the contest.

FIREWORKS over Cedarville Bay!
Dusk – near downtown Cedarville. Best public vantage points are in the Cedarville Waterfront Park on Hodeck or at the Great Lakes Boat Building School lawn.


Les Cheneaux Community Library's Summer Book Sale
July 5 – Presale from 4-7 pm; July 6 open 10 am to 5 pm; and July 7 open 10 am to 5 pm. Sale is at the library on Hodeck Street, Cedarville
