Sponsor of the annual Les Cheneaux Antique Wooden Boat Show & Festival of Arts-- the nation’s largest-- held in Hessel each 2nd Saturday of August. The Association operates two museums in Cedarville, and sponsors a full schedule of activities for the summer and during the Christmas holiday season. Annual handmade quilt and boat raffles offer a chance to win a spectacular piece of art-- tickets sold in summer through Labor Day weekend.

Les Cheneaux Historical Museum: 906.484-2821: on Meridian St., south of intersection in Cedarville. Displays show local history in lumbering - pioneer living, tourism, & annually changing exhibits.  Gift shop with books and memorabilia, art, jewelry, and homewares.

4 blocks east of intersection in Cedarville. Displays of historic boats, boat models, boating paraphernalia, a library, gifts & a boat building shop.

Both museums open Memorial Day Weekend to one week after Labor Day.

 Chartered in 1947, the Les Cheneaux Lions Club is a service-oriented community organization to promote interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral welfare of the community. Meetings are held twice monthly-a dinner social meeting and a breakfast business meeting. Membership is by invitation, and is open to both men and women.

Les Cheneaux Watershed Council's goals include combating pollution sources and causes in order to protect threatened designated uses of water, including protection of drinking water quality and recreational enjoyment of the water, maintaining navigation through the islands' extensive channel system, encouraging land use practices that protect and maintain our water quality, provide appropriate opportunities for public enjoyment of aquatic/terrestrial resources including but not limited to walking trails, scenic overlooks, boat launches, and public access areas, educating the public on our local surface and groundwater sources, preserving the unique nature-based aesthetic character of the Les Cheneaus Islands area, identifying and protecting priority habitat for threatened and endangered species, among other goals and activites. The Watershed Council annually organizes our Frog Fest, one of Les Cheneaux's signature events, the second Saturday of July.

Little Traverse Conservancy (LTC) maintains several nature preserves in the Les Cheneaux Islands area, giving visitors one of the best ways to enjoy and appreciate our pristine, northern Lake Huron shoreline and forests. Visitors can enjoy non-motorized activities on all the preserve lands, including the vast Aldo Leopold and Seiberling-Stewart preserves on Marquette Island, Birge Preserve on Point Brulee in Hessel, and the Derby Preserve in Cedarville. LIFT is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to help and support EUP youth, and to address the needs and challenges they may face. LIFT is identifying, as well as helping provide resources and guidance, which support the well-being of our young people, and their families. LIFT is working cooperatively with local organizations, programs, and agencies to help create new intervention resources and assist in making them available to those in needs or at risk. In loving memory of Lucas Mark Izzard, 1987-2001. LIFT's annual events include the Steve Tassier Memorial Pike-Perch Derby the first Saturday and Sunday in March, the Fireman's ball in July, and the Cedarville Jersey Mud Run the last Saturday in September.
